1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how ByLisaBern collects and uses personal information.
- Privacy email
- hello@lisabern.com
For data-protection purposes, ByLisaBern is responsible for the personal information described in this Policy.
2. Scope of this Policy
This Policy applies when you:
- visit this website;
- request the free Your First Rollerblading Lesson lesson or First 7 Days Practice Plan;
- choose to receive beginner rollerblading tips, course updates, or offers;
- join a course waitlist;
- contact ByLisaBern;
- buy or access a ByLisaBern course or other digital product after those services become available.
It does not control how independent third parties process information on their own websites or platforms.
3. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Contact details: primarily your email address, and your name if you choose to provide it later.
- Preference and consent records: whether you opted into marketing, joined a waitlist, unsubscribed, or changed your preferences, together with the date, source, and version of the notice shown to you.
- Messages: information you include when you email, reply, request support, or otherwise contact us.
- Purchase and course information: billing status, product purchased, access status, progress, and support history once paid products are available. Full payment-card details are normally processed by the payment provider, not by us.
- Content you choose to submit: questions, reviews, testimonials, or rollerblading videos if a future course offers feedback features.
Information collected automatically
- Technical and usage data: IP address, browser and device type, approximate location derived from IP, date and time of access, referring page, and server logs.
- Email delivery and engagement data: delivery, bounce, unsubscribe, and—if enabled by the email provider—opening and link-click information.
- Third-party media data: information sent to a video or font provider when its resource is loaded, as explained below.
4. How and why we use information
| Purpose | Information used | Reason / legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Deliver the free lesson and practice plan you requested | Email address and delivery records | To respond to and perform your request |
| Send rollerblading tips, course updates, launch messages, and offers | Email, consent, preferences, and engagement data | Your consent |
| Manage a waitlist | Email and waitlist action | Your specific request and consent |
| Answer questions and provide support | Contact details and correspondence | To respond to your request and operate the service |
| Operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the website | Technical logs and usage data | Our legitimate interests in running a safe and functional service, where permitted |
| Process purchases and provide course access | Identity, contact, transaction status, and access records | To perform a contract and meet legal obligations |
| Maintain records, prevent abuse, and establish or defend legal claims | Relevant account, consent, technical, and transaction data | Legal obligations and legitimate interests, where permitted |
Where consent is the basis, you may withdraw it at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing that took place before withdrawal.
5. Email delivery, marketing, and waitlists
Entering your email and clicking “Get the lesson + plan” asks us to send the free lesson and First 7 Days Practice Plan to that address.
The separate marketing checkbox is optional. If you select it, you also agree to receive beginner rollerblading tips, course updates, and occasional offers. You can receive the requested lesson and plan without selecting that checkbox.
If you later click a clearly labelled button such as “Tell me when enrollment opens,” that action may record a separate preference to receive course-launch messages.
Every marketing email will include an unsubscribe method. We may keep a limited suppression record after you unsubscribe so that we do not contact you again and so that we can demonstrate and respect your choice.
6. Cookies and third-party technology
Current site configuration
The current page files do not contain advertising pixels or behavioural advertising scripts. Ordinary hosting logs may still be created for security and operation.
The site uses Google Fonts to display its typography. The lesson page is designed to use an embedded YouTube player. When these resources are loaded, Google or YouTube may receive technical information such as your IP address, browser details, and the page you visited. If you play an embedded video, the provider may also store or access information on your device under its own policies.
Cloudflare Web Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics for cookieless traffic and page-performance statistics. It runs automatically, excluding visitors in the European Union, and is separate from the additional-analytics choices in our privacy panel. It does not use analytics cookies or track individual visitors across websites. Query strings are not logged by this service.
Additional analytics or advertising tools
If we add additional analytics, Meta Pixel, advertising measurement, retargeting, or other non-essential tracking, we will update this Policy and use a consent mechanism where required before those technologies load.
You can also control cookies and storage through your browser, although blocking some technologies may affect embedded video or other features.
8. International transfers
ByLisaBern operates from Georgia and may use service providers in other countries. Your information may therefore be processed outside Georgia and outside the country where you live.
Where applicable law requires safeguards for an international transfer, we rely on an available lawful mechanism, such as approved contractual protections, an adequacy decision, or another permitted safeguard. The protections available in another country may differ from those in your home country.
9. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including legal, tax, security, and dispute-resolution needs. Typical periods are:
- Free-resource request without marketing consent: ordinarily up to 90 days after delivery, except for technical, security, or suppression records that need to be retained longer.
- Marketing subscription: while you remain subscribed. After withdrawal or unsubscribe, we retain a limited record of consent and withdrawal for the period required to prove and respect your choice.
- Direct-marketing consent records: for the duration of the marketing activity and, where Georgian law applies, for one year after that direct marketing is discontinued.
- Correspondence: ordinarily up to 24 months after the last substantive contact, unless a longer period is necessary for a dispute or legal obligation.
- Purchases and course access: for the duration of the customer relationship and then for the period required by accounting, tax, consumer-protection, and limitation laws.
- Security logs: for a limited period proportionate to security and troubleshooting needs.
We may anonymise information so that it can no longer identify you; anonymised information may be kept for analysis and service improvement.
10. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live and the law that applies, you may have rights to:
- receive information about how your data is processed;
- access and obtain a copy of your information;
- correct incomplete or inaccurate information;
- request deletion or termination of processing;
- request restriction or blocking of processing;
- object to certain processing;
- withdraw consent at any time;
- receive or transfer certain information in a portable format;
- complain to the competent data-protection authority.
To exercise a right, email hello@lisabern.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting. We will respond within the period required by applicable law.
You may also complain to the privacy regulator where you live. In Georgia, the current supervisory authority is the State Audit Office of Georgia. You can find its personal-data-protection information on its official website.
11. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, loss, or destruction. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
You are responsible for protecting access to your own email account and any future course credentials.
12. Children
The website, mailing list, and adult beginner materials are intended for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact hello@lisabern.com so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
13. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy when the website, providers, products, or legal requirements change. The updated version will appear on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Where a change materially affects a consent-based use, we will request new consent when required.
